Africa 2014

Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park is situated in the northeast corner of Botswana is home to some of the most abundant wildlife in Africa. Chobe is the second largest national park in Botswana.  A visit to Chobe is also a great opportunity to Victoria Falls and the nearby Okavango Delta. Victoria Falls is located in Zimbabwe.  On our visit we were lucky enough to see all of the BIG FIVE - Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Cape Buffalo and Rhino, along with many more.

Timbavati Private Game Reserve

Timbavati is a Private Game Reserve situated on the Western boundary of Kruger National Park. The Reserve shares an unfenced border with Kruger.  This allows animals free range and ensures that visitors are able to view the most diversity of wildlife that Africa has to offer.  Along with viewing many African wildlife, we were also priviledged to view the rare and endangered wild dogs that reside in Timbavati.

Victoria Falls

Victoria Fallsthe world’s largest and most spectacular waterfall in the world is located in the southern part of Africa on the Zambezi River at the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe.  It is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World.  On our visit we took a helicopter ride over the falls and enjoyed spectacular views.  Also, prior to our visit, the area had a very wet rainy season which in turn resulted in the river being very high and very fast.  Although we had a blue sky above, while we walked the trail it was like being in a rain storm.  This also produced many spectacular rainbows.

Be thankful for what we have been given . . .
